What is it?
We propose to create a meeting of common singing for peace, simultaneously, by choirs in all the cities of any country. Something simple, massive and with the greatest possible participation of choirs and institutions that want to join us. We count on choral music as a universal instrument to contribute to peace in the world.
These are the main data:
When: Sunday 26 March between 12:00 and 13:00 CET time
Where: in the most representative and suitable square or open space in your city.
Who: all the choirs of the city and its surroundings, and all those who love to sing.
What: as last year, we will sing the traditional canon "Dona Nobis Pacem" in three voices, a capella. In addition, we will premiere a new Choirs for Peace hymn, composed by Jim Papoulis for our initiative. Optionally, additional simple pieces representative of each city may be performed.
How: The choirs will meet in person in the most emblematic area of their city. And at the same time we will join the most representative venues live via videoconference and we will broadcast it on social networks and media that adhere to it.
What for: to unite thousands of choral lovers from all over the world for a few minutes to sing a hymn calling for the restoration of peace in Ukraine and in all war-torn regions of the world.
